With the introduction of the vGRID Protect (Powered by Comet) and the retirement of vGRID Protect (Powered by Code42), customers will need to configure their backups over to the new platform.
As 'vGRID Protect (Powered by Comet)' utilises different technology to perform its backup, there is no way to just "migrate" between them. Instead, the process is simply to deploy vGRID Protect (Powered by Comet) agent onto your PC / Server along side the existing solution, configure the backups and once you are happy that it is working correctly, remove vGRID Protect (Powered by Code42) and deactivate your account in the vGRID Customer Portal.
STEP 1: Setup a new account for vGRID Protect (Powered by Comet)

- Log into the vGRID Customer Portal -- https://customer.vgrid.nz
- Find and Click vGRID Storage Service under Services menu
- Click on the vGRID Protect tile
- At the top right-hand corner menu, click on the Location button and select Auckland (Powered by COMET)
- A popup window will appear to confirm the location desired to be loaded, Click OK
- Click on the ADD USER button at the top of the screen
- Select the location from the dropdown: Auckland (Powered by COMET)
- Enter a valid email address for the account (which will also be used as your login user name)
- Enter the desired User Account Name (ie your First and Last name)
- Enter the desired password
- Enter the confirmation password
- Tick the box
- Click the Submit Request button
Proceed to Installation of the new client
